We are looking to replace this product with creamy cocoa butter, emu oil, shea oil blend. <br />If you've got scent suggestions, we're listening. We will only carry up to 10 scents in this product. Lavender and lilac will be among the choices. <br />We're also looking to eventually add container candles to the fold and are entering into the jar selection stage and then into the real test stages before they hit our shelves. <br />Next year we will be involving more essential oils into some of our products and establishing products specifically for this material.<br />Until next year, we do wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Here's to hoping for no more computer problems!Scentedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07880913027220776761noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1985379323318371546.post-30794173966704020042010-04-23T13:15:00.002-05:002010-04-23T13:25:21.118-05:00Coming soon!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-uz5IQmdmfU7LeJLVBk0Nk46pYSTtobIh7sEfQe_QVSRjlgiafnpoulmI2dpteq-1ZGSTHbiIMHrXNhMTaR73IxodkXS00qmAPXCvR91Pp1x_LE7Dq7RaW3FseY6R6mMrOYNPn676HOM/s1600/oleaf2.jpg"><img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 308px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-uz5IQmdmfU7LeJLVBk0Nk46pYSTtobIh7sEfQe_QVSRjlgiafnpoulmI2dpteq-1ZGSTHbiIMHrXNhMTaR73IxodkXS00qmAPXCvR91Pp1x_LE7Dq7RaW3FseY6R6mMrOYNPn676HOM/s320/oleaf2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463400597364955858" /></a><br /><br />We have a beautiful Pinot Grigio scent in our possession and have combined this with an equally gorgeous jasmine. <br />The end result is a 3.5-pound batch of soap that is entering its gel state. <br />Interestingly enough, this is not an overly floral or overly wine scent. The combination of the two fragrances appears to have a sweet, fun and flirty note that we'll describe later once this log has gone through cure. <br />Waiting to become a batch of soap is our latest essential oil combination of pink grapefruit, lemongrass, rosemary and a tiny bit of litsea cubeba for a very fresh, energizing combination. The trick will be to see how this survives gel, once we get the batch made. I do not want the heat from the gel to burn off particularly the pink grapefruit EO. It will still be an energetic blend even if we lose the grapefruit, but we just don't want to lose the grapefruit. <br />Look for more soaps to be included online within a week, starting with Patchouli Mint and ending with a gorgeous Olive Leaf blend, pictured, that could be called That's Amore!Suggestions for names are always welcome!Scentedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07880913027220776761noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1985379323318371546.post-79052827816991778612010-04-11T12:11:00.002-05:002010-04-11T12:23:35.997-05:00Madness and mayhem<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_DIVrhamKdhJyaDHFJN6Kt3ZGhdwcTlPqDDLXHOV0tkKnuowMxNHYdIsU29Epm7FObqUANOPfBkIfEZLhvcbYO06-sdoIrYew-PiGbnX1Gyeu0p8LjJgZXhCrc9rVqsvliM1JL8yEyHA/s1600/affect_flame1b.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 222px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_DIVrhamKdhJyaDHFJN6Kt3ZGhdwcTlPqDDLXHOV0tkKnuowMxNHYdIsU29Epm7FObqUANOPfBkIfEZLhvcbYO06-sdoIrYew-PiGbnX1Gyeu0p8LjJgZXhCrc9rVqsvliM1JL8yEyHA/s320/affect_flame1b.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5458928962833972002" /></a><br /><br />The website has finally been updated. Our sincere apology to everyone. We ran into a glitch in the web design that led to erased photos and other electronical quirks. It was absolutely maddening. <br /><br />Winter was hectic and we have been scrambling to get soaps back in stock. Last year was a record year for our bars and that means we get to play more in the laboratory than normal. <br /><br />We will be adding all new items to the Create-A-Tory and keeping it updated now that most of our data has been restored and the midnight oil has been burned. <br /><br />There are plenty of new scents and lot of favorites back in inventory. We're also upgrading our site with the ability to add video so you can see your products made or get a virtual tour of our tent etc. We have also joined Twitter and you can follow us there for updates on the business, our playtime, products and sales, and even spur of the moment sales. <br /><br />So join us on Twitter! We will be adding some new things to the site as well our show tables, so be sure to keep your eyes open in 2010.<br />Our plans are to hold monthly sales, drawings and different stimulus plan for the coming year. Along that line, we're hoping to be set for a Valentine's Day savoir faire. We do have new fragrances to frollick in throughout the coming year of which we hope they win your hearts like they won our noses!<br /><br />More to come.Scentedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07880913027220776761noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1985379323318371546.post-20061654920207054222009-08-16T20:26:00.004-05:002009-08-16T20:46:02.487-05:00Fall season starting<div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmsce48tYTznbAlXgrQj5IP5vTgz5xd1qw9I_fgvCI5z7uwnLvr11mwtM43GALnbc6Frak5P1WXaW61MMhDfFZeyr5rIaeij0rESSGpwXHpjelJDZBSVntsBuILBCbFCwX7ckWmBzWGPA/s1600-h/mgldmt.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 207px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 205px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5370742127011160146" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmsce48tYTznbAlXgrQj5IP5vTgz5xd1qw9I_fgvCI5z7uwnLvr11mwtM43GALnbc6Frak5P1WXaW61MMhDfFZeyr5rIaeij0rESSGpwXHpjelJDZBSVntsBuILBCbFCwX7ckWmBzWGPA/s320/mgldmt.jpg" /></a>The Leavenworth County Fair in Tonganoxie gets us ready for the fall season and we're working our new candles, new looks and restocking what is low.<br /><div>Thank you to those who came to our booth and those who purchased. We hope you enjoy your products.<br /></div><div>We have restocked some candles: Drakkar™, Love Spell™, Lavender, Lilac, Sweet Pea™, Red Clove, Mulled Cider, Basil Sage and Mint and Tiger Eyes. </div><br /><div>In incense (expected arrival Sept. 1): Drakkar™, Merlin's Forest (new), Strawberry Musk, Jasmine, Witches Brew (new) and some others will be coming soon. </div><br /><div>In lip balm: Margarita and Peach Daiquiri are back in stock. Witches Brew and Pumpkin Pie will among the fall flavors returning. </div><br /><div>Bath bombs: Ever popular were these gems this past week. We're working as fast as possible to get Lavender and Lilac into stock. We will be restocking Misbehavin', Pretty, Sandalwood Rose, Karma Chameleon, Goddess and Tahiti Temptation quickly. Also coming back will be Kai™, Kimono, Pure Seduction™, Queen Bee and several newer ones as long as the strength holds up in our hands. </div><br /><div>Soap: We're dangerously low on Patchouli and a batch will be finished Monday night. We're a little behind on Apple Jack, Cranberry Citrus and we're hoping to add Snow Queen, Raspberry Patchouli and a few others. We ran out of a key ingredient that just arrived, so it will be 4-6 weeks before these soaps will be ready. We will announce them on the site. </div><br /><div>New this week in candles will be Marigold Mint and Merlin's Forest. Merlin won't debut till Wednesday at the latest. Marigold we'll be offering in light and dark. You got a preview picture at the opening of this thread. </div><br /><div>We will be restocking Patchouli after Merlin and promise to get Driftwood back in stock as well as Lustful Thoughts to go with some newer fragrances. </div><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div>Scentedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07880913027220776761noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1985379323318371546.post-14975207421597003602009-08-03T22:16:00.004-05:002009-08-06T11:03:23.247-05:00Hot Summer Nights sale near!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAFA3Z1dZb4ufJZ_j-jQr9fzGk7lR56Ur2SI3zTtPu0ejMALYAEKv1y4IulFHhYByV53WDA0ul_iTlaJYwhu1HwSwLSCU5zG5JMcUnWTlZ7S-WnydPEaA_NZe7oRGBy70I02cdG70KR-A/s1600-h/DSC_0086.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 312px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 284px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5365945770686367474" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAFA3Z1dZb4ufJZ_j-jQr9fzGk7lR56Ur2SI3zTtPu0ejMALYAEKv1y4IulFHhYByV53WDA0ul_iTlaJYwhu1HwSwLSCU5zG5JMcUnWTlZ7S-WnydPEaA_NZe7oRGBy70I02cdG70KR-A/s320/DSC_0086.jpg" /></a><br /><div>Now that vacations are out of the way, it's time to get down to some serious summer enjoyment. </div><br /><div>The heat is back and while we've been around, we're kicking into gear. </div><br /><div>Starting Wednesday, we're discounting everything in our online store by 20% to kick off a Hot Summer Nights sale that won't end till midnight Sept. 20, 2009 (the last breath of summer, according to the calendar.)</div><br /><div>But to still encourage you to stretch your legs and enjoy some fresh air, we're also adding an coupon online that you'll need to print and can bring with you to our shows for the remainder of the year to get 10% off your purchases in our booth. With that said, how will this affect the stimulus package for those who are members? In person, it doesn't. It means you'll get 25% off if you use the coupon and present your card. Now, that's savings. </div><br /><div>Online, it's a different story. It has taken me a long time to try to figure out how two codes can be used on our site without redoing all the pages. No matter what I've tried, it hasn't worked, so that's why the sale has been mighty slow in coming. The easiest alternative is for us to reimburse you the additional 10% off your purchase and that's what we're going to do. You will need to include your Stimulus Package code in your Paypal payments to get it and you will get the discount. </div><br /><div>Most summer sales seem to last a few weeks, but this one will be going down to the last tick of summer -- ending midnight Sept. 20. The sale will be good for all items that are in stock. When something is gone, it's gone.</div><br /><div>Turn around time, that is processing, packaging and mailing your package, may require up to three to five days, especially if you're ordering bath bombs or candles in the 3x6 and higher range. We don't keep a healthy stock of that size because we simply don't have the room. </div><br /><div>There are no new soaps on the rack right now. Give me this weekend to get the fall and winter lines going. </div><br /><div>We're looking forward to seeing many of you throughout the show season. </div>Scentedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07880913027220776761noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1985379323318371546.post-69925339437596338562009-07-10T00:34:00.008-05:002009-07-10T00:54:52.215-05:00Back to candles<div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkJPKv3NwQ5U5cpzPwXWCgPazXcBjlggYYQ08Wc9SaTMnl40Vl-VlMDEbaluCYI9hPpLfpkzkxeuhcgJqu57gefjl7oaNvotV_A87aFWbFrx88ljEuyD5LPOKLd40DzAWp4gz6d3Mga1Q/s1600-h/dusted+pillars.jpg"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilvlfXyvMarLbHomnRO4T_exl2UEZmAacaxQw5zvUzznmiFIs5NwV6q7VEsx7sdkH6IQMuEUvhQugtA2q8j4ooOdlEV2AQvIV1IBlfQ1RGILuFfGqa1bnYvKeIZ3GUyjH7qB9sDLv8z_o/s1600-h/melted+wax.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 238px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356705542381120306" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilvlfXyvMarLbHomnRO4T_exl2UEZmAacaxQw5zvUzznmiFIs5NwV6q7VEsx7sdkH6IQMuEUvhQugtA2q8j4ooOdlEV2AQvIV1IBlfQ1RGILuFfGqa1bnYvKeIZ3GUyjH7qB9sDLv8z_o/s320/melted+wax.jpg" /></a>We've got a feel for some new scents a<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGE0XJwV_w4UIBz7lrUHKdIlvrg4cL9ssBo0tBP5ehzDg92E-puSgfuCjoAy89BRcgJOzz6ILC4TaIvhmexMesWQW7m9mR1fAhYArSamHwNqIWYd-jHNKodp7C1WqRcaK1YjxKAjaxECE/s1600-h/dusted+pillars.jpg"></a>nd for our fall/winter fragrances we'll be offering this year. This fragrance is similar to the smell of powdered sugar confectionaries, so I tried to get a lightly baked look under a dusting of white. </div><br /><div>We've also got an extremely yumah fragrance called mandarin coconut that will be on the shelf by the fair too. We've kept this simple with an orange rustic look and the fragrance is anything but rustic. It was the easiest way to combine orange and white ;) </div><br /><div>Coming will be an absolutely divine combination of pumpkin and butternut squash, cranberry peppermint, sandalwood and ginger apple and a clove spice for starters. All of these soaps will be ready for the fair in August!<br />Pictured above is what we call Pretty. This fragrance had a good debut in the spring in bath bombs, so we were finally able to get it into soap. Pretty is a mixtures of succulent nectars, plum blossoms and mimosa with hints of fragrant air (minus the humidity!)<br /><br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 270px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351575053971652018" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_qOsn8iWjessn913h9FoFHnEOZj1rAqYpH12rpdDL9u3O8QikKv-GaRd3J62K0uB60FuKCNagTsJ9W1W6_sgpwt77NoXs9So-ew6jGF7uJ_wY2QzQzR4tMHd_M0shWBU0l2WgYSN_Y5o/s320/misbehavn.jpg" /><br />Our most popular scent, behind Lilac, Lavender and honeysuckle, has been Misbehavin' (pictured above.)<br />The picture is a little deceiving. That nice soft pink has been gradually turning to the darker pink color of the embeds. It is a bar of flirty fun.<br /><br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 253px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351575065874322466" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWATR2OFJF2Smg9Fp-tJd2AdKlVM7fBL3a5XP-US_nc5933j8wJfUaugbegAu5cgDCBeMuc2e5FG3i5XKTIir9xe9I_Bbyj1mCkhk81D1JwO1CiWxH7bZTSKiGt_zEOfH6dNf4MuNAmvA/s320/bpeprct3.jpg" /><br />We decided to do a small batch of this and we're going to call it Heart Throb for that special man in your life (and if you steal it from him, we'll understand too.) It's everything reviews of this fragrance said it was -- good, sexy and a few things I won't repeat. Be sure to get a whiff of it while it lasts.<br /><br />We do have other batches curing -- Caribbean Queen and South Pacific. Caribbean Queen will be released first. South Pacific has a month to sit while it cures. <br /><br />We're still working on a fall lineup. We're pretty sure Apple Jack will return along with a little more than what we had last year, since it was gone in less than a month, but we're also trying to find a little something not-so-common too.Scentedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07880913027220776761noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1985379323318371546.post-83081552078361901992009-06-06T18:44:00.005-05:002009-06-06T19:03:46.119-05:00Intro to EO and honey<div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZKdqlQH9AjE7hjVK-rvvj4_x7pGiaUC6oTS2O2zMXs06XUpLVifv_KJXcsK1WlHHN4iVopWdbofC-UZonh5zB37X8EMKB7jH_xaC9m_onI_EW8HWdS58mK2zzdq24ZMXIjx3EDa1K_SI/s1600-h/lavEO_honeylt.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5344368936257228066" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 199px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZKdqlQH9AjE7hjVK-rvvj4_x7pGiaUC6oTS2O2zMXs06XUpLVifv_KJXcsK1WlHHN4iVopWdbofC-UZonh5zB37X8EMKB7jH_xaC9m_onI_EW8HWdS58mK2zzdq24ZMXIjx3EDa1K_SI/s320/lavEO_honeylt.jpg" border="0" /></a> While still experimenting with the use of honey in soap, we thought we might as well add a second testing element and get a better idea of how essential oils react in soap.<br />Surprisingly similar to the aromatics we currently use in all but the price range.<br />Essential oils are usually distilled or steamed variations of the actual plant. There are some synthetics out there, because some of these elements can be upwards of $100 for less than an ounce.<br />So our honey experiment has led us to this:<br />A batch of lavender essential oil mixed with a light-colored pure honey. We used two colors of purple, which look pretty cool to me in the wet stage. Since honey has the ability to slow trace, it's not really a surprise that these logs won't be pulled and cut for days, because of their softness.<br />With the exception of perhaps two batches, most of these went into our log molds a thin to medium trace. We opted to try the dark honey with this, so the butterscotch-colored batch we had has darkened the greens. In the wet state, I think the colors are surprisingly gorgeous. We'll see what happens as it hardens throughout gel.Scentedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07880913027220776761noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1985379323318371546.post-57592547447862095062009-06-04T12:01:00.014-05:002009-06-04T12:58:26.004-05:00Honey and soapsHoney in soap is apparently a skin delicacy <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTBRhSc-AdmxWmLaLhOYg3ytd7xKHwdsN6LaBu_wI735TA6AJrKiQLapZOruxM_dXuhqi98aQgqqndLgoEt0Umd0kqnIIlowXQCJpNNgX8vRTeBRuZnxbbt1-_-TlXnrKHAJqrUqgWjl8/s1600-h/hon_cbqueen_lt.jpg"></a>according to some people.<br /><br />So we're trying it, purely in the testing stages, to see if there is truth behind articles that say honey can aid in radiant skin. Its known to be a humectant and according to the National Honey Board, it has antimicrobial qualities. Humectants attract moisture and help retain it.<br /><br />In soap, honey might impart a light, warm and sweet scent and adds to the lathering. We happen to love the lather off our bars and others do as well, so we will make tests in this arena too.<br /><br /><div><div><div><div><div><div>We have a light golden honey, a medium shade and an ultra dark one that has a nuttier aroma to it. None of these batches are more than four days old as of this post. Two of the three batches have fragrances added to it that should complement.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjKXi2WXsEy7ySvCyvlb2SE67dD8awlpae1kCq8PTfSzX5-N8qUyUtNKh4AwNcNoTlWAskq86C64uvpvi_K_YvaQYQWAxpxPeuq4sAL5dR1tcPCuXf8gxoYB18IJm00vxtJosX2oENJXw/s1600-h/honey_cbqueen_lt1.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343532765275061010" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 128px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjKXi2WXsEy7ySvCyvlb2SE67dD8awlpae1kCq8PTfSzX5-N8qUyUtNKh4AwNcNoTlWAskq86C64uvpvi_K_YvaQYQWAxpxPeuq4sAL5dR1tcPCuXf8gxoYB18IJm00vxtJosX2oENJXw/s200/honey_cbqueen_lt1.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />The light, golden honey in this batch is mixed with a fruit combination. This was by far the easiest of the honeys to blend with the oils and water. This is the oldest of the batches made. Made with full water, it will take longer than the other two to develop into a hard bar, but we'l see what happens in the fourth week.<br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEin-jF1z9uPQPSYHn8JpU3JGQCCfHUGIqX5VUPLmEDqg1dMykYrBUUwDWJiGIgq2Q5AMV2vSGBspea4Elk1UK8oSc8bZGXnLhf38LR2Ui8tsLlok-3ivSd0D2VW-UEacvrs5qEGN_lyEks/s1600-h/honey_dark_nosct1.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343531306980900370" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 141px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 180px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEin-jF1z9uPQPSYHn8JpU3JGQCCfHUGIqX5VUPLmEDqg1dMykYrBUUwDWJiGIgq2Q5AMV2vSGBspea4Elk1UK8oSc8bZGXnLhf38LR2Ui8tsLlok-3ivSd0D2VW-UEacvrs5qEGN_lyEks/s200/honey_dark_nosct1.jpg" border="0" /></a> In this batch, I used the darkest honey and had trouble getting it to incorporate, which is evident by the flecks in this uncolored batch. While it's known that honey soaps have a tendency to take a long time to come to trace, I discounted water and added buttermilk to this batch, which made trace easier to reach. I'm disappointed that there are golden flecks in this batch, but I'm looking forward to trying it just to get a feel. In this batch we're also using cocoa butter just to see what it's like compared to the mango butter we normally use. It's my opinion this is the complete tester batch with the addition of three ingredients. I'll probably have to sample this at more length.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343531929882003426" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 153px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4Cz-bqaBnuFxcsRwoYBUOOvfwycgr4heATeSGQZfPWsqGxtiIS65EIDdv7zZsVMsAK1T6KOf3XlgCrlVhNKrXn8uSL9ezbNRb4AqkNQFqk0D1M7Q7wRsS0LNbP9hgKmUBP9vIWgw0HMI/s200/honey_med_savnnah1.jpg" border="0" />The third batch simply has the medium honey, which was warmed before introducing it to the oils and that didn't go over as swimmingly. I fear the honey pearled an am expectly small bits of it to be in the soap. This may work as a gentle abrasion that works with dry skin. We'll have to wait for the tests, which will likely start four or more weeks from now.<br /><br /><div align="left">Because of my issue with not being able to pick up the honey notes, I added a fragrance to this batch, reduced water and found that the scent actually helped to induce trace. It went into the mold at a medium-thick trace, since I had to work faster to get the two colors incorporated.<br /></div><div align="left">Actually I need to make a few more honey batches and do my best to put down the color and the fragrances. I'm most looking forward to the milk and honey version, but I'm intrigued by what could happen if I increase the amount of honey in each batch. Since honey and sugars will add heat, I have to be careful to avoid it in excess to keep the soap from turning into a volcano or cracking.<br /></div><div align="left">There are several variations to try. Depending on how testing results go, we could be adding honey soaps into our line. These batches will go through a national sampling. We'll analyze the results and then submit to a more strident field of testers before anything will appear on our shelves.<br /></div><br /><div>So here's to honey and what could be an interesting road ahead. </div></div></div></div></div></div>Scentedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07880913027220776761noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1985379323318371546.post-30283011228311985762009-05-31T19:49:00.000-05:002009-05-31T19:54:21.706-05:00<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL7zxUFvscwvpgZfExjGeEhVg8ZpQe7uytA_VDf_nXZUFis17oeGW-U_sk04F_qKDJXSR2CWvqi1OTZgMKSdLnForqpb7sOpOozYlYqRQ6KJj0HoZAfW66Qm0Ik0TaNgjCKL0nEA95R78/s1600-h/beach+balls.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5342156107885723906" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL7zxUFvscwvpgZfExjGeEhVg8ZpQe7uytA_VDf_nXZUFis17oeGW-U_sk04F_qKDJXSR2CWvqi1OTZgMKSdLnForqpb7sOpOozYlYqRQ6KJj0HoZAfW66Qm0Ik0TaNgjCKL0nEA95R78/s320/beach+balls.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div><br /><div>We're heading into June with the promise of a sale and if all goes well, the beach ball bonanza will be ready in two weeks or less! </div><br /><div>Yes, we're promising a beach ball bonanza summer sale for June, July and August. Right now they're in votive form and when they appear in more than our 2 oz size, I'll add more options to the website. </div><br /><div>I realize I still need to get that updated with the current choices. </div><br /><div>We have added a Heavenly Blue Lotus, which is not overbearing in its floral components. </div><br /><div>Pigtails & Braces is now in votive form as well as Oatmeal Cookies & Raisins, Lustful Thoughts, Herbal Indulgence and Mandarin Coconut. </div><br /><div>So what about these fragrances:</div><div></div><br /><div>Heavenly Blue Lotus has a softly sweet floral bouquet that is balanced with fresh greens and hints of herbs and spices. It was a sacred symbol of beauty in upper Egypt.<br /></div><div>Pigtails & Braces is a fun combination of sugars, vanilla and an enticing musk. </div><br /><div>Oatmeal Cookies & Raisins. I picked up on the butter and oats with a hint of spices that felt warming. I actually thought about cooking for the first time in years and was fortunate enough to not have oats in the cupboard lol. </div><div></div><br /><div>Lustful Thoughts. This used to be exclusive to an After Dark collection we had. Now it's offered in its own box. What is it? An incredible river of musk with juicy strawberries. It's heady, rich and irresistible IMO. </div><br /><div>Herbal Indulgence. Remember those commercials where women were moaning in the shower after using Herbal Essence shampoo? This is a similar fragrance in that it's a great collection of herbs that delivered a relaxing atmosphere for me. </div><div></div><br /><div>Mandarin Coconut. This is the OMG fragrance. I took my nose out of the bottle long enough to get the votives made. It's a fantastic combination and great for any time of the year. What comes to mind is just a long mmm sound. The mandarin is quite noticeable, but the creamy coconut adds a little bit of lush to it. </div><br /><div>Within another week or so we hope to have Vanilla Bean Noel, Butt Naked, Black Orchid, Misbehavin', Strawberry Shortcake and quite possibly some Vanilla Lime, Iris Padilla and glazed donuts to add to the mix. We're still working on a carnation, tulip and desire. </div><br /><div></div>Restocked: Lavender, Monkey Farts, Cool Citrus Basil, Spring Rain, Zen Tea and Russian Tea. We still have Georgia Peach and a host of fall and winter scents to stock.<br /><br /><div>Unfortunately we will have a lot of discontinued scents. Some of them we hate to see go, but with the rash of newbies to the line, perhaps we'll both find some new favorites. I know I'll miss the lavender chamomile and maybe one of these days these two will be united again. </div><div> </div>Scentedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07880913027220776761noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1985379323318371546.post-53335422909277592672009-05-09T14:59:00.003-05:002009-05-09T15:55:20.013-05:00Votives<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5333922559667678050" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 221px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 186px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcJkBwpujqhukEiGH4VllHpuXBb8avXh_GxqLZQWTXvy_GKw9iYhZ0lRc6sE8eE3bF3qzQRxEceGlDUd2bfDuM0H8urTE19MDr_VtE-8a_uAgU3bAXzrv6PCWnEYqEKXo7VuVijK-DJbM/s320/mangpap.jpg" border="0" /><br /><div>After a successful Wamego Tulip Festival we found ourselves depleted in several categories, of which, votives were one. </div><br /><div>We've been working hard to replenish our votive stock as well as get new scents tested.</div><br /><div>At this point we have restocked Sweet Pea, eucalyptus, honeysuckle, gardenia, lilac, jasmine, rosemary mint, strawberry kiwi, coconut banana blast, clean cotton spiritual awakening and spring rain. </div><br /><div>It may not seem like a lot, but to try to stay ahead of sales, it is. </div><br /><div>We still have tulip, red hot cinnamon, monkey fars, lavender chamomile, cappuccino and other coffee scents, fireside, zen tea, Russian tea, vanilla bean, herbal indulgence and mulled cider to get back on the shelves. </div><br /><div>As we replenish stock, we've also managed to sneak in some new ones.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Rustic Jeans -- It's a clean scent, yet spicer than the clean cotton and contains a blend of sandalwood, bayleaf, amber and musk with bergamot and a sprinkle of kitchen spices that make this a little sensuous. Keep in mind, to my nose, it's a new twist on clean. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Attraction -- We had this three years ago and it was exclusive to an After Dark collection we offered at the time. Now that the After Dark collection isn't in circulation, we're pulling out some of those scents to offer regularly. This is one. The cold throw, admittably, is a little light to my nose, but when that melt pool forms, oh my. This is a combination of some amber and musks that draws attention and most of people are immediately attracted to it. See the complementing moisturing perfume bar and people will follow you in the grocery store just to try to find out what it is. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Cantaloupe -- Sweet, juicy, ripe fruit. I love this chilled and it's pretty great in wax too. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Wild Mountain Honey -- I'm definitely not a fan of leather scents and this one can be added to the list, but I'll survive. There are days when this scent is beautiful and days when I can't stop sneezing. However, if you love the scent of the honey, this is the one. I just happen not to be a honey fan, except on KFC biscuits. This is every bit a strong honey scent and the cold throw is powerful. This is wild honey combined with hints of wildflowers. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Warm Vanilla Sugar -- Returning in votives after three years of missing from our line. We think we ran into the best there is out there so we have decided to inch it back onto the shelves to see how people react. Soft notes of brown and powdered sugars are mixed with vanilla and pulled together with a musk. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Cinna-Vanilla -- The marriage of vanilla and red hot cinnamon and the vanilla doesn't damper the strength of those red hots. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>We're working on a few more scents, which include vanilla lime, oatmeal cookies, Iris padilla, mandarin coconut and other surprises.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>If you're following us at shows, we'll be in the Kansas City area next weekend, followed by trips to Tonganoxie and Junction City. Check us out. </div><br /><div></div>Scentedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07880913027220776761noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1985379323318371546.post-85682779695379207802009-04-12T18:22:00.005-05:002009-04-12T18:56:45.494-05:00Bubble Mania Bath Bombs<p align="left"></p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7hYe_uY_iCJwAnOf4lHAr0LqyGQ6kNM77LwJmSQAFHHl6EarfbEYHoSRBBK7amEcA3cK5WVpOq9l4kkf3u5PI_mYx616vsrR07a0hjnTPGCxussPkwlQRVgryodU3WYd5iDGPUzFx4dI/s1600-h/misbebb.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5323956569873418082" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 186px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 192px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7hYe_uY_iCJwAnOf4lHAr0LqyGQ6kNM77LwJmSQAFHHl6EarfbEYHoSRBBK7amEcA3cK5WVpOq9l4kkf3u5PI_mYx616vsrR07a0hjnTPGCxussPkwlQRVgryodU3WYd5iDGPUzFx4dI/s320/misbebb.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br />We love the feel that our foaming bath bombs deliver and the silky feel after lounging in the tub. It's a great escape from the daily grind.<br />Unfortunately the weather hasn't been overly friendly in allowing us to boost our stock for the coming spring season, but we're doing what we can to reload around the wet and rain.<br />Sweet Pea, the No. 1 favorite among our customers, is in stock. We'll be boosting our lavender inventory, since this scent is No. 2 among our customers, and Victorian Rhapsody, which rates No. 3, is available also.<br />We promise to get Kai made and unfortunately one of our scents will undergo a rename so as not to be confused with the Givenchy perfume. We love the name, and while our fragrance isn't close to the Givenchy perfume, we thought it best to seek another name.<br />Tahiti Temptation will made a reappearance and eventually the Bubble Mania page on the site will undergo an overhaul.<br />We will be adding more scents to entice your little monkies to want to take a bath. Right now we offer Bubble Gum, but we are planning to add a Lil' Monkey and Jungle Book to the fold. We're working on a Little Princess scent and we're hunting for a perfect fit for Little Prince.<br /><strong>NEW!!</strong> We're so crazy about the <em><strong>Misbehavin'</strong></em> scent and think you will be as well. It's a very fun, flirty and, dare I say, sexy fragrance. Our testers have loved it maybe more than we do! Sweet, juicy candy apples and pomegranate are combined with ivy and a wink of mystery. We hope to offer a complementing soap to go with this. It will definitely be among our choices in Body Mists.<br /><strong>NEW!!</strong> <strong><em>Pretty.</em></strong> And this scent is for those seeking to appease their feminine side. The mix of Bartlett pears, apricots, white peach and plum blossoms with a kiss of fresh air and mimosas makes a very pretty scent.<br /><strong>NEW!!</strong> <strong><em>Beneath the Stars</em></strong>. The energy of night comes alive with a combination of grape, peach, citrus essences, plum, rose and a capitvating musk.<br />What will be missing from our line will be scents that we cannot find replacements for: Allure, Balance, Exotic Embrace, Golden Poppy and Solace.<br />However, plans are to introduce a few extra scents to reach every emotion and mood we're famous for having. It will start with the introduction of a Tibetan Amber and work through such fragrances as our ever-popular Lustful Thoughts, Attraction, Mistress, Oh Foxy Lady and Ladies Night. It's all about feminine wiles.Scentedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07880913027220776761noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1985379323318371546.post-22935546929401106952009-04-02T23:57:00.005-05:002009-04-03T00:20:22.149-05:00Weathering leather<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTfj4OmQl7AOhbqOqaxu5PB6qGD9hSR5ctZDIDnvvRDBFwd1WQpaFC0TtNne060X_HKeMcdDFe9OFl6ibF4Zhndn2QmunNnGB7Dv1pWntD5AftifIorznH-feCoUxu_uNxf9lBgF7ZJmQ/s1600-h/Leather2.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5320327717611250482" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 177px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 141px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTfj4OmQl7AOhbqOqaxu5PB6qGD9hSR5ctZDIDnvvRDBFwd1WQpaFC0TtNne060X_HKeMcdDFe9OFl6ibF4Zhndn2QmunNnGB7Dv1pWntD5AftifIorznH-feCoUxu_uNxf9lBgF7ZJmQ/s320/Leather2.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Leather is one of our popular scents, but a not so popular one the female half of this business likes to make often. So when candles are made in this product, plenty are done at once!</div><br /><div>Why black over brown? I guess I view black as more daring and brown for those old bomber jackets, chaps, leather sofas and libraries and cowboys. Actually we carry and sell both colors. If you've got a preference of color when ordering, please let us know in the comment section until I can figure out how to not make it complicated to add a second button to our cart. </div><div></div><div>Why the discussion about leather? For those who love the scent, we're adding more options. Goodlooking Cowboy came on board about a year ago and, like our straight leather, we have a hard time keeping this one in stock. We'll be adding Guns 'n Roses to our selection starting with the Wamego Tulip Festival. </div><div></div><div>Goodlooking Cowboy is colored in blue with thin strips of brown, but Guns 'n Roses should definitely stand out visually. This entry is actually to introduce you to the scent -- tanned leather (but of course) with a slight hint of rose petals (must have a hint of feminine appeal so this scent tempts both sexes) and it's showered with musk. </div><div></div><div>I can't make promises what these candles will look like, but I'm aiming for some red, blue, orange and black combinations in angled layers. Be sure to stop by our booth in the park or feel free to preorder and we'll bring it to the festival.<br /></div><br /><div></div>Scentedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07880913027220776761noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1985379323318371546.post-60847281388343319452009-04-02T01:04:00.000-05:002009-04-02T01:27:31.777-05:00Why blog?Welcome to our blog.<br />We've wanted to blog for a few months now and have decided that it was time to be more interactive on the net, especially between shows.<br />We feel this may be our best venue to explain why we do what we do, pick the fragrances we do and share a little bit about what we do, our aspirations, testing results, product searches etc. We thought maybe some took us literally about being mad scientists and thought we'd better shatter our Albert Einstein image to be more like ourselves.<br />The About Us link on our website pretty much fits us to a T.<br />At shows and fairs, Rockin is the most visible person in the company. Scented is usually in "the lab" trying to keep stock adequate, experimenting with formulas, fragrances and a spectrum of colors as well as our website updated with new stock, previews of what's coming and keeping up with what sells out.<br />We're trying to get ready for the April 18 and 19 Wamego Tulip Festival. Last year, Wamego is where we debuted the bulk of our Lippity Dew product. Our range of flavors has certainly increased since.<br />The Bubble Mania Bath Bombs were new last year as well.<br />Since we've added something every year, it should be no surprise that we will have something new this year. We've been testing several formulas for a body mist. We've been looking for the right combination of ingredients that leave a soft, powdery, cool and almost silky feel. Our problem is that of the 10 or so formulas we've concocted, we can't seem to narrow it down to one. We are down to three, but we're trying to determine what will be of interest to the public in terms of fragrances, packaging, affordability and appearance.<br />By all means leave suggestions for scents you would like to see. I'm told we will offer up to 10.Scentedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07880913027220776761noreply@blogger.com0
